What is Peanuts W-Splint ?

Peanuts W-Splint is a reusable emergency splint designed to provide rapid temporary immobilization of injured limbs and joints. It can be manually molded to the patient’s anatomy to help minimize movement, improve comfort, and support patient care from the accident scene through transport, the emergency department, and while awaiting definitive treatment.

Peanuts W-Splint is lightweight, easy to apply, moldable by hand, requires no water or heat, is X-ray compatible, reusable, easy to clean, and suitable for EMS, hospitals, industrial workplaces, schools, cruise ships, offshore platforms, and remote environments.

Traditional wooden splints are rigid and flat, which may not conform well to the patient’s anatomy. Peanuts W-Splint can be molded to better fit the injured limb, providing improved immobilization, enhanced comfort, and reduced unwanted movement.

Vacuum splints provide excellent immobilization but are generally more expensive, require more maintenance, and may become unusable if punctured or damaged. Peanuts W-Splint offers a lightweight, durable, and compact alternative that is easy to store and ready for immediate deployment.

Yes. Appropriate splint size and application technique should be selected according to the child’s anatomy. Circulation, skin color, temperature, sensation, and pain should always be reassessed after splint application.

Peanuts W-Splint is intended as a temporary immobilization device while awaiting definitive medical care. Under routine circumstances, it is commonly used for approximately 4–6 hours. When clinically necessary, it may remain in place for up to 24–48 hours under appropriate medical supervision, with regular neurovascular assessment. Padding may be recommended during prolonged application.
